Because we have an incoming 7 year old trans person coming into the league. We now have a whole committee for how to deal with it. My pushback against it is certainly going to get me voted off the board, which fucking sucks for my child and my team.
But now every single board member, and every single volunteer coach, has to go through sensitivity and diversity training. We have to alter literally everything we're doing for travel soccer because of a single incoming trans person. How the fuck is a 7 year old a trans? How do they even know what the fuck their identity is? Why the fuck are we letting a boy play with girls?
Why the fuck do we have to change EVERYTHING because of one fucking player? Why do now have to have 3 more voting members of the board who's only responsibility is to tell others they're not being sensitive enough.
I fucking hate these people.
I am drafting my resignation letter now. I'm not going to let them kick me off the board because I don't think children know anything about identity, let alone sexuality.
I'm hesitant to remove my child because they're not on the team and they LOVE soccer. I will only remove them if I can find another team for them.
You must remove your child from the proximity to the madness. Your child will still be subject to the inclusivity and diversity “training” despite your absence.
If it’s not something you want to be a part of, you certainly don’t want your 7 year old being part of it either.
