William Barr needs to order the DOJ to sue crooked police chiefs and mayors who order the rank-and-file cops to stand down while criminals overrun the country.

Dereliction or a direct order to stand down?

A direct order to stand down is treason!

What difference does it make? It's everyone's duty to reject an illegal order that runs counter to the rule of law. Any police chief or mayor who orders the police to cede control of the streets to the criminals should be arrested by the rank-and-file.

I wholeheartedly agree. Once (when) this clears higher standards need to be met for those taking any oath. So as to (idealistic maybe) assure that they understand that abiding by any unlawful order will be met with swift punishment.

Public officials (including emergency responders) typically take an oath of office. Trump should totally look into setting up "code of honor" regulations that hold public officials to a certain standard of duty.

You could informally think of the concept as a "UCMJ-lite" - a heavily stripped-down version of the UCMJ with more lenient penalties and fewer rules, set up to discourage and punish misconduct among public officials who are sworn to defend the public yet all too often betray the public's trust..

I think the level between that and actual UCMJ should be determined in some part by what the position is that the person holds. So, I'm a new Officer, I would be on a lower expectation versus the CPTs and the heads of the departments ect.

To be qualified to "apply" (Similar to NCO posts) is the best of the best, and by receiving that position (and in turn, yes a raise) you have to "re-enlist" with that oath and understanding that you will now be held at a higher standard. Think of General Officers messing up vs NCOs.

5 hours later, the quoted antifa allied press Tweets:

After swarming Black Lives Matter plaza and subjecting everyone in the vicinity with seemingly arbitrary arrest & chemical weapons, DC police ended the evening by launching flashbang grenades—first, deep into the crowd, then directly at those closest to them (who posed no threat)
