I feel you -- i really do. Not having mortgages and other responsibilities like family is definitely a huge privilege. Tim Pool is ready to be jobless and homeless and can ditch it all in bugout van in moment's notice.
However from my own experience -- even guys at 9 to 5 can stand up for themselves, provided you position yourself at your workplace. In four years i've been saying "NO!" to my bosses several times and each time i was getting a raise instead of a pink slip because i showed myself as irreplaceable and constantly and loudly showing myself as such.
People respect hustle, balls and competence, being loud and proud even if you might come off as a jerk.
Obviously that won't fly at sweatshops like fastfood joints or Walmart where you're just a cog but that's my personal experience.
You don't actually believe when Tim talks shit do you? Tim is older now and rolling in dough... He panders just as much to each side to keep those views up. He ended up a fence-post sitting Villain and he doesn't even know it. He can talk big and gloat about what he did once in his life... But, the only reason he got all mad was because he got a little more pressure from YouTube on his cash cow, He IS NOT going to "walk away" with his pride... he is going to get pissy and beat his chest proclaiming his "great character" and how EVERYBODY ELSE should be doing something, but he will continue to muzzle himself like he has to keep YouTube just shy of getting rid of him. ~ Chickens will cluck and dogs will bark as far as the day is long. Its easy to walk away when your young with plenty of potential and vigor... not so much when your set and you get real comfy... Tim wears the golden handcuffs, he knows about them, the price is high to remove them, Very High. I walked away from a job I had, I had money coming out of my ears... Long ago. To this day I don't know if I'd do it again, those handcuffs will kill your heart, but the money! The Money!! Choosing your pride when it hurts... Hurts. I had union co-workers that beat their chest like Tim does... "LIONS" in person, "Lambs" in the bosses office.
