The deaths are a 3-4 week lag behind the cases.

So a sudden spike in cases can be traceable to BLM and the health authorities endorsing it.

Not sure why you were down voted. It's more complicated than this, but in general the peak in daily deaths lags the peak in daily cases by 2 to 4 weeks. I think we should know fairly soon if deaths are also going up. We're smarter now (I think?) about protecting the most at risk so even with more cases I'd expect fewer deaths as a result when compared to earlier data.
