I second this. However, it's not really a good idea. Politicians have to reach their audience where they sit - forcing them to change won't work (Parler, like Facebook, requires a login). On the other hand, "gravity" motivates people to change. In the last 24 hours, there has been a TON of conservative twitter personalities moving from Twitter to Parler. It's a pretty impressive shift.
His people will follow him, because they like him. The press will follow him because it is their job. The haters will follow him because they love screaming at him.
Trump has the power to instantly legitimize and empower any twitter competitor.
As a successful and savvy businessman, I'm sure Trump knows this. He could crush Twitter in one fell swoop by declaring he's moving to Parlor and then never posting another Twitter post. Why doesn't he do it?
Parler is a closed platform. They've given users the ability to share a link to their own original post, but not the threads, and not re-posts form other users as far as I know. Posting something on Twitter makes it 100% public, it comes up in search engine results (even if years old), and the tweet (or retweet) with the entire accompanying thread can be linked anywhere for anyone to click on and see.
Really all Trump has to do is say "I am imploring and asking that all Conservatives move and start an account with X. So that we aren't silenced." And it will happen. Heck .win if they wanted too (though I think they should wait till we are Top 100) could become a new reddit. Back in the early 2000s Digg sided with Corporations (the baddies at the time) over organic free speech and so everyone moved to reddit. Now the baddies are the leftist who have been co-opted by big corporations and Chyna, and they have silenced organic free speech on reddit. So everyone (smart and clever) moved here.
That’s ok. I’m fine with him posting on Parler and then an hour later posting to Twitter. Then people who want the news ASAP go to Parler and then people who don’t pay attention still get to see it. It will drive lots of people to Parler and still get the slackers
I agree but he should start and account and have himself or his team make 1-2 posts there that are not issued out on Twitter
Can still use both programs and see how that effects things.
If he shows up there and makes even one post a day that is only shared there. It would make a lot of media types make accounts to keep an eye on it plus other effects.
This kind of thing was said a week ago about Parler never working. Look at it now. It requires ACTION. This would work. Hell, half of the "journalists" in this country would have to do it because that's a majority of their activism...errr journalism.
It's only a matter of time and it will deal a heavy blow to Twitter. Obviously won't kill it, but it will knock them down hard.
Exactly this. We have to get them used to honest human interaction again, as opposed to the toothless, sterile chatter hosted by Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Youtube et al.
Well we have to have someone to kick, don't we? I'm fine with Lefties being there. I'm NOT fine with conservatives being silenced every time we beat a lefty badly in the battle of ideas. So as long as we can continue the ideological beat downs without being censored, they are welcome.
Trump should join Parler and simply link every post there in his tweets on Twitter. Force people to visit Parler to read the post.

He has his reasons. Probably to force them to keep censoring him so he can crush them in a different way.

The hug of death. Parlor would grind to a halt or their AWS bill would be off the charts.

Yep, I watched Tim Pool talk about this...exactly right. I dont use Twatter but would join Parler if Trump did.

He can do both - when Twitter censors, users can go to Parlor. When they eventually ban him, he’s already there. win/win
Good. I do not want Parker to be a fucking right wing echo chamber. I want the fucking leftists there to mock, ridicule, and destroy.
I have WAY more interest in interacting with them than I do typing out a “yeah man totally agree” reply 90% of the time in a conservative bubble.
So what if their posts are toxic? Deal with it and destroy them.

100%
Why do you trust Parler and have you ever given them your phone number?
