You’re right. No other social media sites do data mining. Guess I should just stay on Twitter and Facebook to be safe. /s

I used "Text Now" to get a free texting number and used that to register with Parler. Text Now only requires an email to register.

It's to keep trolls and bots off the site. It's possible for bots to create infinite accounts and post propaganda which is why twitter started doing it.

Twitter and Facebook have your phone number without you having entered it on their site. They track everything.

I'm on a PC. VPN'd with an IP address 1000 miles away. What phone number do they have?

Respectfully-WTF are you talking about?

Browser fingerprinting and a bunch of other things. Even if you don't have a Facebook account they track you.

Facebook can link data to generate a complete profile of you. The sites you visit, browser and other identifying methods gives Facebook enough to construct a profile without you having a Facebook account. Even family/friends help Facebook without you knowing. Even vpn usage doesn't do a thing to stop this.

Twitter is publicly viewable, so nobody needs an account to read everything that's on there. On Facebook, at least some public figures have totally open accounts that I can view everything on without having an account myself. I assume anyone who wants to can make all their Facebook content public.
