I agree about ridiculous password requirements, but if one-way encryption fails then EVERYTHING fails.
A proper password manager stores passwords encrypted with your password required to decrypt them. Using a password manager and requiring your password for each use is an option.
Cool, but if the password generator app gets a data breach, it's even worse.
