I know this sounds like concern trolling, but I'm legitimately curious about the myth of the Republican and Democratic parties switching. It doesn't make sense to me that either side would agree to this, but I've seen a lot of info thrown around by leftists in general and would appreciate a sort of TL;DR from an unbiased source that I can throw back in their faces. I don't want to argue with them using half-facts or not knowing the full extent, and being a Canuck we don't really get taught that sort of thing at all. They seem really up themselves about it, and I really, really want to shove something tangible down their throats and watch them react like they do with certain other facts and statistics.

Holy shit that was fast. Thank you, man. I'll take a look at these in a little bit.

I didn't get a chance to reply while I was at work, but I wanted to thank you again. I checked out both videos, and seeing the dates not matching up, their big argument about Reagan fall apart, as well as the under 1% switch, I feel very confident actually arguing this.

Bill Clinton was in a “whites only” country club and he had to resign when the press found out when he was running for President.

And Al Gore's father voted against the Civil Rights Act in 1964

After all is said and done, I believe just 2 senators crossed the aisle.
