The Order was created by the Roman Papacy as a response to the Protestant Reformation - when the Scriptures became available to the people of (primarily) northern European nations in their own language. This set off a series of wars for both political & spiritual liberation from the Roman system - culminating in the 30 Years War in Europe and the Dutch war for independence from Roman Catholic Spain, which lasted 80 years. A new phenomenon began appearing in the earth: limited constitutional republics honoring the natural rights of man bequeathed to him by his Creator. The purpose of the Order has never changed - that being, the re-subordination of the heretical Protestant republics to the universal temporal (political) power of the Roman Pope.
Did they? We've been under military government since March 9, 1933 when 4th Degree Knight of Columbus & apostate Protestant FDR - under the direction of his personal adviser Jesuit Fr. Edmund Walsh - put the United States into a temporary state of national emergency with his Proclamations 2039 & 2040, approved & confirmed by Congress w/ the passage of the Emergency Banking Relief Act (signed on 3/9/33), amending Section 5(b) of the WWI Trading With the Enemy Act (TWEA), which brought the jurisdiction of said act INLAND to the United States, effectively reducing the status of every Citizen of the United States of America to that of an "enemy belligerent...living in occupied territory," to use the exact verbiage of the amended TWEA. This is the birth of the statutory "US citizen" - the registered property of and surety agent for the state-created ALL CAPS corporate sole, created on the date of the filing of the individual's certificate of live birth - JUST LIKE the Roman baptismal certificate - which confers ROMAN CITIZENSHIP upon the recipient. The Emergency Baking Relief Act (now codified as 12 USC 95a) has never been repealed, and Proclamation 2040 has never been terminated.
