Just an observation, I think Hong Kong protesters waving American flags is a sign that communism doesn't work.

Do these leftists realize this or is it just me? Hong Kong Protesters waving American flags with pride, that would suggest oppressed nations envy the U.S.

There're more than one reason Hong Kong protesting is currently receiving zero coverage. They are obviously vehemently pro-USA, including the current President and associated images.
