I am wonder if they sent 15 so Bubba Smollet and Noosecar couldn't claim the incident was not investigated properly when they would predictably find it was a hoax, per usual.
It was a good move IMO. Think of it like this, they took 15 guys and sent them over to this very serious crime which needed to be addressed immediately.

NASCAR says how great it is when a few lads change four tires and add in some fuel in 10 seconds for the pitstop.
NASCAR then needs 150, just a guess, hours of FBI investigation for a piece of string that people grab to open a garage door.
