I think he gets reports on people's opinions of him from here, because I saw another interview where he was clearly annoyed at "people who want justice instantly, and that's not how it works."
Personally, I understand people being skeptical of him, given some of his past decisions, but I think he's dedicated to protecting the executive branch and the DOJ. He sees the writing on the wall, if the coup plotters get away with it, and I think this is his one shot to protect his legacy. I don't mind him being held to account, but I wish more people would understand how long these things take, and just how deep the swamp really is.
