Consider this as I tell you there isn't any amount of shock that carries you even a block, let alone driving across town to a residence, through two separate calls, then driving yourself AGAIN to the ER- and you DO NOT feel relaxed UNTIL THEY START DEBRIDING, even with massive amounts of morphine pumped into you.
Also note: I spent 5.5 DAYS in a burn unit for a fricking mug of hot WATER alone dumped on my side/thigh and hand, with twice a day debriding and major drugs repeatedly during debriding as well as throughout the first 3 days for pain. And I am a tough cookie that small amounts of meds are effective on. You can image how bad it hurts EVEN AFTER MAJOR MEDICAL HELP.
NOW consider the photo image of her face and neck...
Those are at most low 3rd degree burns with one that might be borderline worse.
And once debriding happens under NO circumstances are any wounds allowed to scab over like that EVER- you have special burn wet bandage covers that stay on EXCEPT WHEN REPEAT DEBRIDING IS DONE. That process continues 2xday even at home, until new nerves and tissues begin to regrow from the BOTTOM of the burn and enough forms to allow surface new epidermis to start. Anything less is medical malpractice, particularly on a face, that scars badly and is utterly risky on multiple levels as well.

My guess is a badly made malitov cocktail was dropped or sloshed or sprayed next to her, and either her own kit was used or others immediately medic'd her face with cloth and water to put it out swiftly and wash most of it off. Then she left, and tried to cover it up after reaching her brother's but he insisted she call mom then the hospital to have it properly looked at. And thus this story happened.
