I lived in Democrat and Republican states and the fact that people don't make the connection between corrupt democrat politicians and corrupt police is beyond me. Not saying bad eggs don't exists in republican states but it is nothing on par with democrat run states.
I don't think that is the case at all. Republicans want less government. Being taught to respect police is very different. I would say that Republicans are more apt to accept when corruption occurs and then will take action against it. I know many police officers who are wonderful people. I imagine two kinds of people want to become police. 1 those who want to protect and 2. those who want power over others. The key is firing those who are not in it to serve and protect.

The more involved they are at the federal level, the more corrupt they are for the most part. It's all about $ and promotions.
