No but according to the article the ice on the rink is renewable or something. I don't know. Sports is doomed anyway so who cares

All ice is renewable. There is no such thing as "losing" water, except for tiny amounts that are lost from the atmosphere to space and through processes like electrolysis to create hydrogen and oxygen. It's a closed system, essentially.
