Is there some logical reason that I'm not considering for why you can't view anything on Parler without signing up? It seems like only a disadvantage to me but I fully admit I just might not be thinking of something obvious.
Network effect. With these high profile people moving over, you need to sign up to read what they say. Imagine if DJT does the leap. The Eugene MD's of this world would need to sign up too, to do their reeeeeeing
I just signed on yesterday. Needed a number to get verification code by text. Not really worried about it. It's not like Biden's gonna call and ask me to sit on his lap.
I've said this a hundred times already, but I'll say it again. It requires you to enter a phone number on first page of registration (feel free to provide fake number), it asks again for a phone number on second page for verification but allows you to skip it.
You can make an account without verifying either phone number or email.
Yes, in an effort to prevent bots from signing up. Numerous websites do this, and although it's not an ideal practice in terms of consumer privacy, it is an acceptable one that is prevalent in the industry.
If you aren't already signing up for everything with fake information, you're doing it wrong, and you've likely been fingerprinted and can be identified across all your devices and browsers already no matter where you go. GG.
The idea that you have to go through the motions is asinine and self-defeating. They either need to choose that you do need to verify to view content or you don't because they're deterring a lot of people with faux requirement.
Someone said in another thread that they didn’t confirm it, that they just put in random numbers and it worked. Not sure if this fucks them over somehow which I wouldn’t want to do since I hope it takes off, or even if it’s true.
I can guarantee this works, as I did just that a couple days ago. I'm really surprised people, especially on this site, haven't at least tried searching and trying it out.
It absolutely does NOT work now for me, I just tried to sign up and it SMS'd me a verification code despite using a fake number. Without that code I can't sign up.
So, no Parler for me as I will not disclose my phone number.
That was the reason I tried to sign up when I read they were not checking them, I figured they would start once the leftists started showing up, alas I was too late.
Hope they have a change of heart and I'll sign up then.
Seems like a fake account. "One in the same"? Who says that? Unfortunately there are a few fake accounts trying to discredit Parler. Someone also created a fake Andy Ngo account and started posting dumb shit degrading himself. Parler is under attack.
Aye, there's a reason Twitter created the blue check mark. Parler will have to quicklydo something similar before the MSM starts spinning the narrative that Parler is a meeting ground for the far right and look at all the terrible things these people say when they think only other neonazis are listening.

But...I just want to browse without signing up.
So.. to create an account, we need to give our email and phone number? We trust these people?
We should get a sticky post for a few days here on Parler, the ins and outs, how to work it, who to follow, etc.
Then we need GEOTUS to jump on board.
Setup a Google voice throw away number to connect to your throw away email
lol google
is this phone number thing new? I dont remember putting a phone number in when I signed up over a month ago

If Kayleigh is there, he can't be far behind.
Just use a fake number, simple.
They text you a verification code

But why, it’s obviously trying to get our real id

When I signed up, they didn't. I tried just now, and I only get a loading screen after the captcha. They're losing a lot of potential users!
Make a new gmail address just for signing up and get a google voice number. That is what I did.
I'm there too.
@Food4thought
They did the 6 digit verify thing to me. I didn't look too hard to see if there was an email option

A persons phone number is none of their dammed business
Agreed, I won't sign up under those conditions.
Having people's phone numbers are super valuable which I guess is why they do it.
Seems the recent influx of users made them actually start verifying. I'm glad I signed up when I did then!

Mentioning him gives him power. Treat him like the annoying, yipping dog that he is and ignore him, and kick him if he's really being annoying.
Something seems off with the MSM almost promoting Parler. I think Gab is better.
Yup. That stinks to me.
BEWARE THE HONEY POT. YOU NEED TO GIVE THEM YOUR PHONE NUMBER
Now we all wait for POTUS to join, and it gets insane!
Cruz and now kmac.huge
