This will just create the "What about Jacksonville" talking point for Dems. What about it, it's a fucking dump. I loathed driving through that shithole and wondered why it still existed....oh right, our military funds it.

Otherwise no one would choose to live there.

Democrats still have mayors in the top 10 most crime ridden cities. They move goalposts, we move goalposts.

As a Jacksonville resident(SE Georgia transplant), I implore you to visit the west side towards Baldwin and surrounding areas- not as bad as southside or Washington heights area.

8
operator1214 8 points ago +9 / -1

Well, you know rum, sex and the lash -- many things have not changed since the beginning of civilization and the formation of armies. Military bases tend to draw a rather disreputable lot of camp followers of all types -- something about young men with a decent amount of money on leave. Plus, Jacksonville is a port city, and that certainly never hurt a crime rate.

Significant chunks of my life have been spent in and around military bases. I'm surprised more of them don't make the list to be honest.

BidenTouchedMe 4 points ago +5 / -1

You drove through it? 90% of it is actually just fine. Orange park and jax beach and mandarin Ponte vedra are great. Downtown is clean. But jacksonville is massive landwise so that accounts for some of it. There is a lot of white trash areas and black neighborhoods where the crime is. I. I grew up going to jax for the music scene and it was great. Its not a shithole like you say. There are shithole areas for sure

8
Techrev 8 points ago +10 / -2

Plus, they'll include the 'Independents'. There's a surge going on right now that Independents are different. Dunno, probably trying to split the vote. Then the push to tear down Mt. Rushmore...

** From the wiki on the "Independent" mayor of Las Vegas - "Goodman earned a bachelor's degree in anthropology from Bryn Mawr College in 1961.[3] She and Oscar Goodman moved to Las Vegas from Philadelphia in 1964.[4] She graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1973 with a master's degree in counseling.[5]

Goodman is the founder, president and trustee emeritus of The Meadows School.[6] She and her husband moved to Las Vegas in 1964 and soon became active in the local Jewish federation.[7] Eventually, she became the leader of the local Jewish federation's women's division, a position she held for several years.[7] She received the 2009 Commitment to Education award from the United Way of Southern Nevada.[8]"

Not sure about the Jacksonville Mayor, or what his politics really are.

5
operator1214 5 points ago +6 / -1

They are trying to split the vote in contested elections with a Democrat stalking horse running as an "Independent".

But, it should be noted, many progressive groups are trying to get Democrats to re-label as Independents and run in elections in which the Republican canidate is uncontested.

Their reasoning is that "Independent" might be enough to fool voters, knowing that the area is red and will not vote for a Democrat, even if the Republican ticket isn't the best.

They talk about this openly on social media.

13
iwasbuiltforcomfort 13 points ago +14 / -1

Trump is 100% correct if you count violence per capita. It's only when you count total crime that you can manage to squeeze one Republican in there.

The only number that matters is the per capita measurement because it's the only one you can use to calculate the odds that you may personally be a victim of that violence. WP is full of shit and Trump is right again.

1

They will include this in their talking point that Trump is a liar. I hear Dems constantly throwing out the number of lies the President has told. I think I heard Richard Goodstein say "The President has told 66k lies" or some astronomical number like that. It's laughable at this point.

12
CQVFEFE 12 points ago +13 / -1

Wapo knows they're full of shit, but their democrat readers are absolutely stupid enough to buy this.

They also know 85% of articles are never read, only the headline.

They could have put TRUMP TO DEPORT ILLEGALS INTO SPACE USING SPACEX ROCKET and people would be like "I knew that fucker would blast nonwhites into space! We needs to RIOT!"

It's basically a coin toss. Either they're evil, or just insanely fucking ignorant.

Meanwhile lower income kids were the worst when it came to handing in assignments, being on Google meets or just plain participating. Not to mention most dont have a 2 parent house hold to be home for the kids in the first place.

It seems as though 'correcting' them, to address the obvious flaw in their lie, is missing the point.

The point is that they're fvcking liars, and every fvcking thing they say is a lie, produced and assembled like a product, with malice aforethought, to harm the Republic in which they reside as a cancer to destroy it.

(some lefty headline) / 'durr, here fellows is their technical error' 🤓🤓

(some lefty headline) / 'oh look, the shtheads who LIE Every Fvcking Time are Lying again, .. imagine my surprise' 🙄🙄

It's not about a technical flaw in their logic.

It wasn't 'an error', .. it was a LIE.

Because it's not about Facts, it's about Character.

And theirs is that THEY'RE LIARS.

Call Them On It. Make it Stick. Debase. Depower. Dehumanize. They don't deserve to be treated as people. They don't deserve their facade of integrity. They use it as a weapon to assault society, to maim its body, to kill its soul.

24

Sure, we even get some on here who we have gently tugged down from the fence. I have been on TD since the Orlando shooting in 2016. Every few weeks we get posts from people saying that they are done with the Democrats. I think if we keep chugging along like we have been doing, more people will convert.

It is better to get followers through logic and reason than by manipulation and fear.

6

You can tell how scared they are of losing the election by what's happened this year alone.

  1. Covid released by China (with deep state help) to destroy economy + Trump rallies + push vote by mail (for fraud)

  2. Race wars started. I guarantee that knee on George Floyd was a false flag. George Soros funded riots. BLM donations go to DNC.

  3. Bubba noose hoax

  4. Trumps former staff deep state stooges speaking out against him.

Like Biden, I'm probably forgetting other things.

15
_Yin 15 points ago +15 / -0

Absolutely. Both parties are fundamentally flawed and largely subjective to the point of zealotry, forcing issues to be black and white when there's a lot more to look at. While a Republican respects peoples' right to say whatever, many will still shut down or ignore what is being said outright if it conflicts with their tribe's view on the topic. Democrats take this one step further and refuse to allow people to have views that differ from the party.

For example, I think Republicans should be much more focused on fixing our education system at a federal level. There's college professors that are outright telling students they'll fail if they're found to hold conservative views (Cal State San Marcos, less than 5 years ago). High Schools have largely dropped US History or are glossing over/skipping any education related to the Constitution, with 36 states not requiring US history to graduate at this time. Many states have ceased to require meeting credit requirements to hand out a high school diploma. There's an elementary school in Florida that fires teachers if they ever give students less than a 50% score on anything, including work that was never turned in.

This is creating generation upon generation of person that isn't just completely unprepared for life, they have no motivation to do anything and expect to be handed success or at least "average" success while doing nothing. The democrats have crafted these generations in this way because this mindset is very susceptible to gibs, and gibs secure votes. Unfortunately, the establishment left failed to realize they created socialists/communists who have no understanding of how much socialism is too much, and now these uninformed drones are old enough to get into positions in politics and they know how to speak to their fellow drones better than their handlers.

We need schools to train kids for a life assuming they'd never go to school again after that year. Teach them the most important things for self-sufficiency, and branch into more complex topics (such as handling tax, recognizing fraud, and so forth) as they grow older. Unfortunately, Republicans seem to love jerking off to letters that waggle fingers at internet platforms that are clearly oppressing their party. Biden hides in a basement and does nothing, but so do most of our Republican lawmakers, for all the good they've done.

Regardless, I've distracted myself. The current climate causes left-leaning moderates to be heavily dissuaded from voting democrat, and right-leaning moderates are heavily motivated to vote for republicans.

We need to teach our kids this stuff. At an early age. I started with my 14 yo when she was in elementary. She is based as hell, I just started with my 10 yo 2 years ago, she is also based. They see through the bullcrap, they call out my Lefty Mom and Dad all the time, its actually pretty funny. Teach your kids, don't let someone else do that, for what you deem important.

I despise every political party in America. I find them all incompetent, corrupt, and weak with fat...their good leaders and statesmen are either non-existent or few and far between. I really am an Independent, but I don't sit on the fence when it comes to threats to my rights and well being. Trump is just a man and has his flaws and fumblings, but thus far he's been pretty good, certainly head and shoulders above any of the rest when it comes to my rights and well-being.

This is what the article looks like using Archive.is and a text fragment link --

https://archive.is/wOWJw#slug_flex_ss_bb_hp_4:~:text=unparalleled

The trick is to link to some text that's vertically in the middle of whatever part you want to share. I don't know yet if it has to be a unique string of word(s) but it wouldn't hurt. I linked to "unparalleled" because it's only 1 unique word that's nowhere else in the article and doesn't bloat the share URL more than needed. This is a GREAT idea!

Spez: An even better idea when on reddit or anywhere where you can mask links with custom text is to link to the text fragmented archive link and use the original article's share URL as the custom text so that it looks like the non-archived version, increasing normie trust. Try clicking the link below!

I heard somewhere this is basically how Trump makes them report whatever he wants.

If he just said something true, nobody would ever hear about it.

So he exaggerates it so he looks better than the reality, and they all come flocking to him to prove that he lied to tear him down, and it just shows that the substance of what he said was basically true and they discredited themselves at the same time.

3
hairyback 3 points ago +3 / -0

This is spot on. They would never have reported on it otherwise, so trump says 20 instead of 19, and gets them to spread his message. The man has been playing the tabloids for 50 years. This is even more retarded than it appears. Springfield, MO has a "non-partisan" setup for their Mayoral position and the elections. This isn't that uncommon for "weak mayor" style city council setups.

It would be like saying Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler isn't a Democrat b/c technically he isn't in office as a Democrat despite previously being the Treasurer and a State Rep. as a Democrat and you know, being a fucking Democrat.

It's a complete technicality.

Wish I knew how to investigate things like this. I recently tried to research the fact that this shit is definitely the left's fault, and started looking at the mayors and governors over the cities with highest number of police killing people. But I found an even mixture of red and blue.

Funny enough, when I started looking at highest number of police killing black people, it was like Chicago and other notoriously blue cities most responsible for killing black people and Republican-controlled PD's most responsible for killing white people.

But that was like 10 minute cursory looking-over of a few cities on wikipedia, so who the fuck knows.

Couple days later GEOTUS remarks some seemed to fly out the back door and CNN spends 2 or 3 hours saying there's no evidence of that.

Wow. Trump knows he can play those fools like a fiddle anytime he wants.

And so he does.

Jacksonville Florida was full democrat from 1888 until 1991.

I feel bad for the Republicans who are cleaning up over a hundred years of democrap.

This is phenomenal. Only the most idiotic or blue-pilled will see this hilariously weak argument as solid reasoning. Most DO NOT LISTEN TO TRUMP, and may have no idea he said this, or that this many major cities are Blue. Perhaps they've heard the claim, but just assume Donnie lied. Here's THEIR OWN FRIENDLY SOURCE OF INFO telling them he's pretty damn spot-on!

Beautiful.

By fact checking and showing the world that the vast majority of the crime-ridden shit holes are run by Dimocrats they walked right into Trump's trap. Damn they're dumb. They make it so easy for him and they don't even realize it.

I ended up reading the entire article from here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/06/25/trump-keeps-claiming-that-most-dangerous-cities-america-are-all-run-by-democrats-they-arent/

Reading through it reaffirms that the headline is misleading. The article mentions that almost all cities are run by democrats.

That’s a funny way of saying democrats are worse then republicans at public safety by a 20 to 1 ratio

I find it ironic that "off-by-one" is a common programming error.

I find it hilarious that Trump once again is a laser pointer for the media cats, telling a 99% true fact and having the media fact-check him and actually talking about it.

I find it sad that libs will read the headline only.

It's funny everyone that I talk to that are like this author and worry about that are people that are impossible to talk to anyways. Whenever I talk to a decent person who understands what listening is always gets red pilled by stats like this.

A simple example is at some stores I told them masks make me light-headed and can make you sick. The people that don't care about your health when you tell them this you can see them visibly shaking. Decent people actually try to start a conversation about it.
