It has opened my eyes and allowed me to see what's really happening behind the smokes and mirrors.

I had one of those experiences on June 12th of this year when a friend bailed LAST MINUTE on a 4-day canoe expedition we had planned for about a month. Sure, 4 days, big whoop... I ended up doing it all by myself (didn't tell Wife the friend bailed until I got home 4 days later).. But the lesson wasn't lost on me. Sometimes depending on others is the biggest mistake of your life. It was quite the adventure, I portaged myself and gear, went down some rapids I probably shouldn't have.. Fun times. Would have been easier with a reliable friend but that's life.

Critical thinking and discernment is one of your most valuable skillsets and being able to change your opinion/judgement is key too. You can fight alongside a Jew and still not put your life in their hands, you can befriend a jew and they can still teach you something - without putting your life in their hands.
