Looking for covid death rate stats

So tired of this bullshit. I vaguely remember reading that covid is less deadly than the flu for ages 0-40. About the same for ages 40-80. Dramatically more deadly for 80+.

If this is accurate, then why should we even worry about this. Protect the elderly and let’s get on w our lives.
