I'm just curious. I'm kind of detached from social media (except .win obviously). What brought this all on? It seems like a big push for parlor is going on. Hadn't been on my radar 24 hours ago with all the alternatives out in the wild (gab, minds, ect) what makes this one so special? Seems suspiciously like group think. Color me skeptical but I'm open to hearing some more information.
I think what brought on the recent surge was Twitter banning or shutting down many influential conservatives. Now, there's a movement called #twexit and Parler seems to be the place people are fleeing to. What makes it special? The format is very similar to Twitter but, all posts appear in chronological order (no manipulation of the feed), there's no censorship, and tons of big conservative names are there. Those are the first things I've noticed anyway. Oh, and it's easy for anyone to get a verification badge, so there isn't this cult of blue checkmark authorities.
