This is talking about property lines, pede. I like where you're going with this, but don't twist Scripture to suit your needs. Israel was divided between tribes, and each tribe was divided along lines of 5,000, 1,000, 100, and 50 families. The property lines were drawn up around the time of Joshua and this kept the tribes as separate entities. Keeping the tribes separate was important, as it was prophesied by Jacob and the prophets that the Messiah would come from the line of Judah as a King, and from Benjamin as a "suffering Savior." Joseph was descended from Judah and made Jesus his Son by adoption, and Mary was descended from Benjamin. This is what that passage refers obliquely to, not a general thought regarding monuments.
