Universities, like Duke University in Durham? The university named after a slave owner, Washington Duke who bought a slave named Caroline for $601. The wealthy land owner who also borrowed his friends' slaves when it was helpful to bring in his crops, so he could profit from their labor. The Duke family who made their fortunes from tobacco which causes disease disproportionately affecting blacks and other minorities? The Duke University that didn’t admit black students until 1968?

Shouldn't statues of Washington Duke be torn down immediately? Shouldn't the school be forced to pay reparations (they have an 8.6 BILLION dollar endowment!)? Shouldn't the name of this racist organization be wiped from history forever?

Asheville is just as bad.

43
DoYouBelieveInMAGA 43 points ago +43 / -0

I had two friends who randomly happened to be in Asheville on vacation at the same time. It wasn't planned or anything. One guy texts the group chat "so I'm in Asheville and there are homeless everywhere- like everywhere, I've never seen this kinda shit before. Passed out drunk, walking down the street yelling at the sky, drugs everywhere". My other friend says he's there, too, and says the same thing.

They end up flooding the chat with pictures of homeless. It was crazy.

13

My husband is from Candler-small town close to Asheville. We try to visit his family at least twice a year. We always play a game called "Hipster or Homeless" when we go downtown

7
Raindrops1984 7 points ago +7 / -0

Asheville is a cesspool. People tolerate it because they stay there. But Antifa keeps threatening to wander into the suburbs and rural areas, blissfully unaware that there will be a gun behind every blade of grass.

12
EmTheHuman3 12 points ago +12 / -0

I agree. That’s where I live and they had our downtown looking like trash. Thank God I love just outside of city limits, I just avoid them all

Chapel Hill. NC is heading the way of CO, left.

24
KeyboardWarrior 24 points ago +24 / -0

Chapel Hill is basically Durham. Greensboro and Asheville are the next shit holes to be.

11
Tip-O-Matic 11 points ago +11 / -0

I was born and raised in Greensboro, but you couldn't pay me enough money to live anywhere in Guilford county now. My wife and I both work in Greensboro now, but we live in a neighboring small town in a different county. So - I have completely enjoyed working from home these past few months! I refuse to spend any money in Greensboro when I have to return to working in the office. I'll bring my lunch everyday.

6
GrayGhost 6 points ago +6 / -0

If you are where I assume you are, I'm there, too. Shit ever hits the fan, PD/City Hall is absolutely the place to be for the front-footed. Absolutely.

And if you're not where I assume you are, carry on, friend.

4
walls4america 4 points ago +4 / -0

Sad to hear.

Though I'm not a DAR member (Daughters of the Revolutionary War), my ancestor was among the Regulators at the Battle of Guilford County Courthouse. I've heard it said this battle led up to the Revolutionary War.

5
Leatherwood 5 points ago +5 / -0

There were definitely many patriots in Guilford County. My family was among the first to settle in NC, beginning in the late 17th century. Durham is named after a family member, as is Winston-Salem. They were among the first to settle in western NC in Buncombe Cty. Some of them are buried on the grounds of what became Biltmore. It is a shame to see what is happening to NC. The people need to rise up and take it back. NC is one of the most beautiful states in the union, and we cannot cede it to the leftist trash.

3
walls4america 3 points ago +3 / -0

And what's really sad about how anti-American it's become today: one of my grandmother's distant cousins, J W Albright, was publisher of Greensboro's newspaper that ran from 1869-1944.

Its name? The Greensboro Patriot.

That's where Greensboro's allegiance was back in those days.

Separately, thinking it may be a good time to make a bunch of cash purchases while masks are appropriate. No plans to commit a crime but would be nice to establish a plan b with an impossible to prove custody trail.

9

8
Ballind 8 points ago +8 / -0

Put it in a Faraday cage before you bring it home (or put it in a car if it has gps)

3
MakeAmericaGreat9 3 points ago +3 / -0

What's the difference if you put it in the car? It's still sitting in front of your house.

1
faucipolice 1 point ago +1 / -0

Generally people assume because their phone has shit GPS from inside their car that the car itself is a faraday cage. Not realizing that it's probably the visibility to the satellites which could be the issue.

4
Bucktooth34 4 points ago +4 / -0

Don't forget to change your passwords and never reuse them.

Just takes one commie to figure our your name or username and look you up in past breaches and start to cause havoc in your life. Just Google your name, email, and usernames to see how much Cuckoogle knows about you which a commie can use against you.

2
SwanS0ng 2 points ago +2 / -0

for sure. How do you feel about password keepers?

2
faucipolice 2 points ago +2 / -0

Keepass is great because it doesn't require you to have a subscription and you can store the file anywhere. Which means you are not beholden to a specific companies policies and they can't suddenly revoke access to all your passwords all of a sudden.

I honestly don't know what company would do that, it would probably decimate most of their business overnight when people realize that they can lose access to all their passwords instantly.

2
Bucktooth34 2 points ago +2 / -0

Love them!

Bitwarden is the best I've found and made in the USA! They also haven't pandered to the BLM unlike 1Password.

2
WilburPudding 2 points ago +3 / -1

How do you do that?

5
SwanS0ng 5 points ago +5 / -0

prepaid phone from Walmart/Target or even CVS. the Alcatel MyFlip will give you phone functionality without all the extra monitoring and bloatware that comes with a smart phone. You can pick up sim cards and minutes/data at the same places you get the phone, just be careful because some of them have an expiration date from whenever you activate the card. Save it for a rainy day.

2
WilburPudding 2 points ago +3 / -1

Thank you so much.

4
SwanS0ng 4 points ago +4 / -0

sure thing, happy to spread knowledge! someone else mentioned keeping it in a faraday bag which is pretty easy to make - just a fuck ton of tin foil in a sandwich bag will work, keep the phone in between all the foil. keeps any transmissions from getting in or out.

2
NomadicKrow 2 points ago +2 / -0

In minecraft, you can make thermite by mixing a fine aluminum powder with a rust powder and using a magnesium fuse. It'll burn through anything. You can disable a vehicle by putting it on the hood and letting it melt through the block. It has a lot of uses. Only in minecraft.

The new EO is a strongly worded letter. It is designed to politicize and polarize.

Go read it... it is completely unenforceable (it says it is on the honor system and businesses cannot ask a non-masker for any documentation).

It's a joke. But it is intended to get you to make a political choice... mask = collective, no mask = "i want you to be sick and die."

23
SwanS0ng 23 points ago +23 / -0

yep, that's exactly it. crazy how the masks wearers and non wearers fall almost exactly on party lines. One party (the one claiming to be of science) makes decisions based on emotions and does what its told. The other thinks for itself, looks at the evidence, and understands that masks are bullshit - even the WHO and Fauxi said so.

15
MaxineWaters4Prez 15 points ago +15 / -0

10
Thepeter 10 points ago +10 / -0

I thought this one was enforceable? The Raleigh order was not enforceable, but police can issue citations to businesses if everyone is not masked.

Business owners can also call the cops to trespass people who refuse a mask, but I think this will go extremely badly at some point.

4
deleted 4 points ago +4 / -0
6
Tip-O-Matic 6 points ago +6 / -0

Everything about this whole thing is fucked up. At first, it was "wear a mask to protect yourself". Then, when people with brains started calling bullshit, it became "the mask is to protect those around you. are you trying to make people sick?"

Our boy Roy has got to go. I don't understand how everyone can't see through his complete bullshit.

1
Crimson 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, they can't ask for documentation for proof of any of the exceptions. But it does say they can enforce the trespassing law if you come in without a mask or refusing to leave while not wearing a mask.

detaining? hell no, they're not detaining anybody... they have no civil enforcement authority and if they detain you, that is itself a criminal act - unlawful detention, kidnapping. If they touch you, that's battery.

They can ask you to leave. If you refuse, they can ask for an officer to issue a trespass charge.

I made my own garage gym before COVID, but once I started breaking my old bars which were the crappy standard ones, I was unable to find anything online for a long time.

Im enjoying my liberal co workers trying to compare this to trump and i point out he left this to states to decide. The cherry on top is more counties are just ignoring it and not enforcing anything.

I live in NC, You won't find me wearing a mask when I go to the store.

It's a simple start. People have to stop wearing the masks. If some "mask-shamer" says something, tell them you're not going to give up more months of your life dealing with government mandated shutdowns based on phony statistics. Every day you wear a mask is another day you're voting to continue tyranny.

(I know there are some people who have to wear them for work. If that's what you have to do, I understand. I'm talking about places where you have a choice. Give us the masks there and it won't be long before your job is going to quit the masquerade.)
