You can pick up sim cards and minutes/data at the same places you get the phone, just be careful because some of them have an expiration date from whenever you activate the card. sure thing, happy to spread knowledge! someone else mentioned keeping it in a faraday bag which is pretty easy to make - just a fuck ton of tin foil in a sandwich bag will work, keep the phone in between all the foil. keeps any transmissions from getting in or out.
