Joining a local militia is in no way doing anything other than "staying put," except some are becoming more politically involved which we should all think is a good idea. Since February the movement has gained momentum / restarted from scratch, and LEOs are in no position to harass them as they did previously.
Mymilitia.com may be a good first step for many here. The militia is nothing but the last line of defense against a tyrannical government, and won't do a thing about anything current; however, if we ever do need a militia trying to join it then will be too late. It may be able to help some form community defense, which would be separate from militia activity.

We as conservatives would be using violence as a first resort over other options that we’ve forgotten about, such as organizing in large, highly-visible groups. That’s working for the left currently. I’m not talking about negotiating with the left, I’m talking about us doing more before we resort to armed conflict and killing fellow Americans.

What I’m saying is that we can combat the perception of there being no meaningful resistance to the left by likewise organizing in large groups on the same streets where they are.
