It's probably twitter idiots spreading dumb shit so people don't flock to a new service - pretending to be your average person

I can't speak for the app [my device doesn't work for it] but desktop version requires no phone #

It does. Most definitely. Valid non-burner # required*, no skipsies. Also locks you out if you don't keep verifying it regularly. Unless some non-us countries maybe? I still haven't made a twitter account, I think I'll give Parler a decade for their motives to pan out.

Two issues, it would be incredibly difficult to find anyone with just their phone number and how on Earth would they be able to know if you're using a burner number?? Even if they sent Antifa the phone numbers what'll they do? Spam you with nonsense?

Fix anyone? What are you talking about? With a mobile number you can be tracked anytime, anywhere. How do you think the telecom backbone knows which cell tower to use to initiate a call or data connection to your phone? True, parler themselves don't necessarily have immediate access to that, but the government does, the SJW employees of Verizon et al do, etc.

On the second question, they know you are using a burner number if it is a virtual number like Google Voice. If it is an old school pre-paid SIM they might not know, or they might, depending on how much data the telecoms provide.

What country are you in? They require you to verify an SMS message and signup fails completely on an invalid number..
