I am conflicted. My views regarding corporations are evolving, and not toward the positive. I never expected corps would take positions that must hurt their bottom line and alienate a large segment of their consumer base. Somehow taking these radical positions must be profitable, or they think beneficial for the long term and are willing to incur short term loses. I find it troubling.
It doesn't hurt your bottom line if you know people won't cancel or will come crawling back.
Look at Netflix. That company pushes near child pornography and degenerate fetishes and people still have accounts. All my friends do and they are church going christians and you can point out what is on Netflix. Do they cancel? No.
It is the same with every other corporations. Apple makes their shit in China and people still buy iPhones. Nike makes shoes in China and people still buy Nikes. Tesla's batteries contain cobalt mined from the Congo with slave labor and people still buy Tesla cars and drool over Elon Musk.
It doesn't change because deep down, Americans don't want the inconvenience of having to do without.
