I'm not the guy you asked but as pointed out by someone else on this site, look up "things invented by white people" on DDG and you get blatant propaganda in return. Propaganda pretty similar to what is returned by Google or Bing. This may be a result of DDG relying on other search engines behind the scenes, I don't know much about their algorithms. I also don't know much about their ownership or political donations. I just set up a private Searx instance the other day and it allows for a pretty good level of customization of result providers and the weight it gives their results, even more if you're willing to go deep into the source code. I have no intentions of making it public though because I can't afford lawyers. Searx does tell you which results came from which engines so maybe in time I can narrow it down to a couple that aren't ridiculously biased.
