Why doesn't Puerto Rico get the independence that they deserve ? They even used to attack the USA with terrorist attacks for independence.
It would be a great opportunity to cut down on Democrat voters, and reduce Federal welfare payments.
They cost us lots of money, and produce nothing.
Only 4% of puertoricans want independence. 35% want statehood and the rest want either to stay as is or do something different

the US has barely talked about PR since the island stopped being useful. the puertorican's time to get a good deal and become a state has come and gone but americans tend to forget the island even exists while sending money over. so to answer your question i would have to ask you to make some referendum or something because as far as i can tell most americans dont give a fuck about the issue either way
