Well... every PD/Sheriff's dept I've ever seen was unionized, & the grounds for dismissal under a union contract are usually very specific. This wouldn't be allowed in any contract I've seen. So... strike 1. Secondly... a higher court isn't going to support this ruling. Strike 2. The deputies are now going to both go on blue flu absence & resign to go elsewhere, the community will have a big jump in crime, the citizens will kick & scream & vote out this asshoe sheriff. Strike 3 - bye-bye Sheriff.
Republican/conservative Sheriffs need to fire every liberal under them then.
So loyalty to the Sheriff is a job requirement for a deputy, but loyalty to the president is to be abhorred as a requirement for head of the FBI?
