I’m a bigger advocate for rubber bullets. They’re throwing stuff at officers and are clearly being combative, force is excusable. But they (this specific group of idiots) haven’t escalated it to a point where deadly force is warranted. Tasers are too cumbersome with this type of group, otherwise I’d advocate for a push forward method of taser someone, zip tie them, have five or so officers with rubber rounds hang back to ensure the captured don’t attempt to flee or get set free by their fellow rioters, and have the front line move forward to wash rinse and repeat. When the dust settles, roll up the paddy wagons, load them up, and begin the fun process of sentencing. (Doubly fun, aim for felony offenses too, like attacking an officer. Strip them of their right to vote.)
To bad they are hitting the trash with pepper spray 308 or 9mm would be better.
