I was fearful for a while, until a friend helped remind me to put my heart in God's hands. Much of the country doesn't have that solace, as they have abandoned God (including many of our fellow pedes). This is America's real problem it is struggling with right now.
Though countries may rise and fall, trust in the Lord always.
It's not just you. I think there's a minority of people here who are media addicts and get too hyped up - they tend to be the ones most active posting pollution on here and think they're "fighting the war". I think when you put something reasonable about the panic they just immediately want to toss that out since it invalidates their hyperness. There's also another group that doesn't want to feel dumb after getting so scared with the virus shit and eating up what media was telling them to be scared about.
I do think the majority of people here are more passive and just read what's going on, they're not upvoting or downvoting anything.
Yeah, there's a certain type of personality that gets addicted to fear and feels a sense of superiority in being the first to panic. Then there's a certain contingent of people that really just want to LARP zombie apocalypse with all the army surplus toys they've bought over the years.
But mixed in with that is a tiny number of people that are difficult to directly categorize as trolls because of the amount of time they've been around, but who none-the-less repeat never-Trump talking points while downvoting anyone who tries to counter those points with even a hint of "things aren't that bad". We all need to be wary of the insidious seeds of discontent. I strongly suspect they're working for the enemy.
The last big wave was at the start of the virus panic when they rampantly went around down-voting anyone who said masks don't work, or that the virus wasn't that dangerous. That wave disappeared and suddenly its a new group downvoting anyone who suggest we're not going to have to fight some paramilitary, guerrilla civil war against the US military.
I'm honestly starting to think that they're actively trying to find someone on the edge they can psyop into doing something stupid.
I get what you're saying and I think you might be right about it. I can see it happen in waves too, some days are just atrocious with the amount of bad posts and comments while others aren't so bad. Some days I can post the same opinion and get beat up over the dumbest shit and get downvoted while on other days I can comment the same opinion and get upvoted. I can't really say if that's more like bad agents coming here to try and toy with us or if it's more idiots, but I'm sure a big element is tacticians trying to play some of their games on us here. Either way I'm glad you made your post since it does point out something that's probably going on.
You can take action while being calm. You can actually take better action while being calm. Ask any sniper.
There is no situation so bad that it cannot be made worse by panicking. The enemy wants you afraid. They want you demoralized. They want you to think it was all pointless, that voting for President Trump didn't do anything, so why even bother trying anymore.
They know for a fact that they will never change our votes. Their strategy is to stop people voting. They desperately need to stop the spread of American optimism. They need to stop us from spreading our message of exceptionalism and success for any who want it to the fence sitters caught in the middle.
Voter turn out is the key to success, and voter enthusiasm is the key to turnout. The "black pill" nihilists aren't offering any solutions. They're just sad sacks who get off on pretending they have some secret knowledge of "how bad things really are" without any advice on what to do about it other than be afraid and spread your concern.
People don't stop voting because they're sure they're going to win. People stop voting because they assume they've already lost. It's not denying reality to say we have everything to look forward to and we CAN defeat this enemy with a smile on our face. Confidence can be contagious, and the more people we convince we're going to win, the more people are excited to step up and join the team.
Nobody here, no. But this is just the core of the most dedicated. You have to consider the tens of millions that aren't that dedicated. Optimism isn't a function of ignorance; it is an essential weapon in our arsenal. Think about what the term "silent majority" really means. Voter turn out in our country is abysmal. The people we need to reach are the people that have already checked out because they think it's pointless. Telling them things like, "the military is against Trump" isn't opening anybody's eyes, it's telling them we've already lost.
So what's in it for them to start caring? Why should they raise their heads above the parapets when you're telling them that we can't keep them safe when they do? That's exactly WHY the enemies of our country are trying so hard to convince people not to publicly show their support for President Trump or else. Telling those same people that there's going to be a civil war and we don't know who'll win, is playing into our enemies' hands.
If it really comes to "revolution" or "civil war", then the USA is already over. Whatever comes next won't change the fact that our little experiment in individual liberty and consent of the governed ultimately failed. If we cannot win within the system as it is, we cannot truly win at all even if we are the ones left standing in the end.
And that's where the issue really appears. Exactly what does it mean to "do something" in this context? Now, I'm not actually asking you to answer that directly here on a public forum with eyes and ears from who knows where.
But on the subject of hypothetical situations, I sometimes get the impression that certain posters around here are actively trying to psyop someone into doing something stupid in the vein of exactly what the opposition would LOVE to use to justify labeling Trump supporters domestic terrorists and this website specifically a channel for terrorist communications.
Find a person that's already leaning that direction and facing high stress from the constant onslaught of media negativity. Feed them a diet of fear, paranoia, and hopelessness. Tell them it's too late to wait for legal solutions. Convince them that we have to act now before it's too late, that all the official leadership has failed, and someone has to take matters into their own hands. Then try to run off anyone who dares counter that narrative.
Some people in the world would love nothing more than for a forum member here to go rogue.
Anyone who dares go against the rah-rah, cis boom bah Narrative will get downvoted. Concern trolling is real, but unfortunately legitimate criticism gets lumped in. It's against my nature to carry water for any Narrative I don't agree with. It can be a lonely at times
Fight the fear.

It is a lot harder to lead someone out of the darkness without that light to guide them.
Amen

Thanks for taking the time to hash it out with me. Sometimes I just need to have a conversation with someone to sort out my thoughts more clearly.
Loads of people disagree with me. I've had plenty of lively debates and protracted discussions that ended without either party changing their mind.
But all my "worst" comments are the ones where I'm telling people it's not literally the end of the United States and we don't need to live in fear.

I'm thinking that is the majority opinion here (of the pedes), so it must be others down voting common sense.
