....Obamacare is a joke! Deductible is far too high and the overall cost is ridiculous. My Administration has gone out of its way to manage OC much better than previous, but it is still no good. I will ALWAYS PROTECT PEOPLE WITH PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS,ALWAYS!!!

For the seemingly billionth time, mandating coverage of pre-existing conditions is what got us into this mess.

Logically speaking your insurance will stop being insurance because of adverse selection due to the removal of the individual mandate.

The individual mandate was implemented to combat adverse selection by forcing compliance therefore creating artificial demand for health insurance.

The problem with the individual mandate is that it’s unconstitutional for the government to force private citizens to purchase private goods. That’s tyranny.

Economically speaking, “health insurance“ is a private good. It does not have the characteristics of a public good — namely being non-excludable AND non-rivalrous. Health insurance can be “good for the public” but it is NOT a “public good”. Words matter. It’s actually possible for private goods to have positive externalities...

Also, you either need to logically keep both the individual mandate and pre-existing conditions, and enjoy your unconstitutional and exorbitant monthly premiums... or remove both and enjoy freedom. There’s really no sustainable middle ground.

Getting gov completely outta healthcare is probably the best solution but it's not a politically viable solution. Kinda like minimum wage

The day that Obamacare was passed, I cancelled my insurance. Our insurance was going to go to 1200/month with either a 2000 or 3000 deductible from 450/month with no deductible and a 30 copay.

I paid roughly 12k in penalties for not having insurance, but to date including the penalty, I have saved roughly 147k dollars on premiums and deductibles - and that's about what I have in my checking account. Thanks Obamacare!!!!

A balance can be found between humane health care and ridiculous "cover twice as much at 4x the cost!" Obamacare.

Step 1 is mandate all payment be processed within a month. Too many costs are pile up while hospitals wait a year for payment, and only get 25%. That's why shit is so expensive.

Cut the costs, then let states provide a baseline coverage model for themselves. Solved.
