I think an anti-doxxing law could be useful, but also could be dangerous. I don't know if I could support such a thing. For example, if someone is harassing you, or commits a crime, then it seems that the ability to collaborate with other individuals to investigate that crime and find out the identity of the individual might be VERY important.
Conversely, doxxing someone for an activity protected by the 1st amendment seems like an absolutely horrific abuse, especially in the current climate where this doxxing is used to enable harassment, violence, and cancel-culture.
It's an interesting idea, but I think I'd need to see the letter of the law before I would support it.
