I would like to archive a few websites into my local storage but I don’t know how and when I researched I only saw a service that the way back machine could provide. Do you have a decently simple way of downloading/archiving a site onto local storage?

Use archive.today, download the zip. Propagate(copy) zip file to as many backup devices as you want.

If you're in for some serious archiving stuff, then you need to start looking at methods of preservation, redundant arrays, on-site backups, off-site backups.

Never noticed they had the download option since it's so tiny. I tried saving a few of my old archives on there and they say 'Not Found'. Do you have to download the zip there and then when the archive is created? I'm thinking this one will be targeted next and I have so many links I'd probably need to start backing up now before they suddenly disappear.

Only once the archive is created. It also keeps all cached copies or did in the same zip file so you could see multiple changes/edits. Unless the owner of archive.today changes their mind I doubt they're going to get pushed off. And if that happens we're going to see a rehash of SJWs trying to push domains registars to pull bullshit again.

All that will do is push people hard to adopt Distributed DNS instead.
