I was a firefighter for a few years so let me tell you why it's bullshit.

First, if a house is fully involved, then we would move to defensive operations which means protecting the nearby houses....aka...All Houses matter.

There's such a thing as a Water curtain which creates a barrier between a fire and people/property, AKA, spraying water on other houses that aren't burning.

If you're house is fully involved, it don't matter anymore. If there was someone inside, they're dead. You surround the house and drown it. It's a total loss you protect everything else.

AKA...ALL HOUSES MATTER....
