Like at the end of 1984, when Winston was asked how many fingers the interrogator is holding, he must answer "three" even if the guard is only holding up two fingers. That is the sort of control they want. They want you to believe women are men, only black lives have value, all white people are evil from birth, etc.
They aim to destroy anyone who stands in their way, they will get you fired from your job, force you out of business, close down every web account you have set up, get you expelled from your school or college, even get your bank accounts closed down. They will print your name and address in the media, so thugs will come and vandalize your home. Then they will do the same to all your friends and family, unless they "disavow" and distance themselves from you.
At this point, I'm not sure what lawful avenues are left other than voting.
At least you live in a somewhat free country where you are still allowed to defend yourself.
Unfortunately, I'm stuck in the meme that is the UK, where police will arrest you for possession of a butter knife (and that is not an exaggeration, multiple people have been arrested for this). It is getting to a point now where people need to start fighting back.
Yep, in the 30-ish years I've been alive things have changed immeasurably. The main one is just the sheer control the far left has in this country, and the fear that they cause. A lot of people want to say something about what is going on, but they can't risk losing their livelihoods.
We have no 1st or 2nd amendments here, traditionally free speech was an automatic right but that has been chipped away at by successive governments. A lot of the traditional rights we had are now gone, thanks to the worst PM we've ever had (Tony Blair).
Most cities are no-go areas, largely thanks to muslims and leftist Labour councillors. The touristy central parts are reasonably OK, as are the gated properties of the mega rich, but almost everywhere else is overrun. Police ignore actual crime and focus on protecting the feelings of minorities. This is a really unpopular policy here, especially for victims of crime, but the authorities just don't care.
There has been a recent surge in support for conservative politics in the UK - a lot of people are angry that war memorials have been vandalised and the police just let it happen - especially after the heavy handed approach the police took with lockdown, arresting people for leaving their homes etc. So many people can see the hypocrisy now. However, I fear there is not too much that can be done without extreme violence.
It is deliberate, it is an expression of power.

You boys need to do something about that ASAP.
Well at least 1984 had a happy ending. Oh wait...
