I knew it was going to be a matter of time before these alerts would get abused like this. I turned them off on my phone - the only ones you can't opt out of are presidential alerts, which I'm ok with since we have the best president right now
You can opt out of all of them except presidential - at least on a vanilla Android release
I remember seeing how there was all those tiers of shit like "severe weather" and "ultra extreme terrorists are controlling the weather" alerts and I was able to turn those off too - just not the presidential one. I figure that I actually go outside and open my windows enough to see what's actually going on to not need constant barrage of ominous sounds going on when it's raining out.
