It's actually very free-ing. They can have their silly balls which I used to think were so important, and their ever changing rules, and especially, their SJW politics.

It's hard to have the same level of passion I did when I was younger, but I was already feeling that way before all the kneeling shit. I did indeed stop watching for 2 years but then decided that the left doesn't just get to take away something that I enjoy. So I watch the NFL and premier league because I enjoy them.
