completely agree with this. again, the best US universities look for achievements for years of work ex. lets take folks from the very best places and get rid of the rest. also intake should have age as a criteria, less than 30yrs. also, like other countries

It makes no sense hiring the best when they are taking our kids jobs

The real problem is they are NOT the best. Not mosr of them. Not in tech anyway.

if that is the case, i completely agree but it looks like at the very very top, there are jobs which dont get filled because of skillset issues. so we need to improve skill sets in our population, thats the real problem. we need our kids to pursue further education and become phds and doctors

NO! ABSOLUTELY WRONG.

Skillsets are written so they can't be filled. Typically they look for "5 years experience" with tech that came out 6 months ago. HR and the computer systems that filter resumes don't know the difference, but those of us working in the industry do.
