I just had the thought.

If the case ends with a light sentence, that causes means for outrage.

If the case ends in a HARSH sentence, then there is no reason to call for more "woke" attempts at revolution.

I obviously don't know the future, but it seems possible.

Bingo. That is why they have overcharged them in the first place. They are just setting the table for their next round of pillage, riot, and burn.

That is why they over charged. They might not get a conviction on any of it. They are playing the riots start back up right before the election card.

This case was DESIGNED so the police would walk free and cause additional riots. This isn't some random incident. This is a deep state manufactured crisis.
