Its deeper than that. Lost Male Syndrome...most hetero males are 'satisfaction' exiles. There is no 'love' that they need and there's nothing to achieve that ultimately works; that quenches the torment--not even marrying the beauty queen; or climbing Mt Everest. This is the root of the problem imo...its why so many males are contented drug addicts. Its better than ennui and nihilism.
Lotta Young Guys who haven't got the money to pay for thrills; who haven't got the intellect to amuse themselves; who are not brainwashed by the 'pie in the sky' and therefore quelled by hope, seriously want to bash the fuck out of things. These guys just can't go out, spread their legs, and have a baby. A mother with her baby is the most 'satisfied' organism in the Universe--but that important sensation, the only genuine 'love' there is (i.e motherlove) is denied to males. And a female can experience that at 15...whereas the male is still probably wandering around lost at 50. This is the source of most (not all) VIOLENCE...God tormenting the males...forcing them out of the trees and off their arse to 'try' something. To THINK.
Well I get that. But life is hard and people have always been disaffected. Life is always about sacrifice.
Too many young men have been spoiled by single mothers with no daddy to tell them to stfu and get outside and mow the lawn and get a job. They have the perspective of a whiney woman. I know this because I am a woman I can see it in the way they act. I am not a whiney woman. I had a daddy that said those things to my brothers. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't.
We have men who haven't been tested. I wouldn't want them to have to go through war. God knows.. but these young men have never been hungry. I mean really hungry. Never really been afraid, Never been worried about the future, about money about anything of significance. Daddy government is always gonna catch them. Even if its 3 hots and a cot.
War has always been used to kill off surplus males. And you've rightly hit upon another 'benefit' of war--it imposes so much suffering on the male that for many peace then becomes a life long comfort zone. A substitute for 'satisfaction'.
Btw males are "tested" every day--even in Smallsville. Controlling their LUST...focussing on exams and finishing projects when their hormones are screaming to chase skirt; not belting their shit-stirring wife in the gob; not backhanding their kids when disrespected; staying with their incredibly hard and/or boring job; not belting their bully boss, not slitting the throats of punks, and other idiots when sneered at...and not going 'SNAP'--and just robbing a bank (or employer) for a quick money hit.
