She needs to “let go” of her ‘teenage personality set’ and find herself a new identity. She’s in the early 20’s ‘Queen of the world’ stage (ending at mid-20s ‘crisis’). Her adoption of leftist ideas (and soon fashion, behaviors, etc.) reflects this.
You are forever associated with her ‘teenage personality’ and possibly ‘first real bf’ identity, and mentally she HAS TO reject you along with the ‘old’. If leftism doesn’t take over, there might be some other cowboy who can pull her back out of that self-destruct cycle, as she adopts his interests and worldview.

This is real for men and women. Lots of men also go through a phase in their early 20s where they have an over-inflated ego. I was one of them. The quarter-life crisis hits hard, but it can be such a rebirth afterwards.
People need to be careful about riding through a quarter life crisis with someone else. It will get messy, painful, etc. The best way to meet them on the other side is to build yourself independently, and reassess whether you even want to be together after you become matured adults.
