I honestly don't care about who people cast to play any role. What I find disturbing is how left-wing people so easily set up different societal rules for different races and are completely blind to why this is bad.
I guess ol' Nancy Cartwright can't play a Bart anymore, right? Boys should be played by boys. Oh my! What will that do to anime and cartoon voiceovers!
We need to put a stop to "Boy Voice" now! Start the crusade!
As a theater lover (lifelong audience member, current stage manager, and amateur playwright) I'll go to bat for Hamilton. From an artistic standpoint, I don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with its team giving their own radical take on the birth of the US. At the end of the day the story is about them celebrating American history in their own way, arguing it's just as much their story as it is anyone else's.
That being said, I do think there's plenty of hypocrisy elsewhere. For example, there's tons of positive press around how the current Broadway revival of West Side Story has an all Latin American cast. While West Side Story was picking up steam a production of "Hercules" was doing a short Broadway run (i think it was only up for a single weekend) where the lead was played by a black man. Now I personally don't think there's anything wrong with either casting choice, but when it's moral, right, and good to have a Latin American cast tell a Latin American story shouldn't this legendary Greek hero be played by a Greek? While I don't think there's anything wrong with Hamilton, that's a little ridiculous to me.
All this black washing is just profitting on reboots with injected black stereotypical elements. It's like watching Tyler Perry with a seriousness spin only done successfully by a non black guy.
In a way, I'm surprised no one is up in arms how a non black guy is better at making a black production than a black guy. It gives a vibe of a man being better as a woman as a trannie vs actual women being women
you make too much sense
the Too Much Sense Police are now being deployed to your house
don't fight them
just surrender

Touche
Yeah, Disney+ is turning into Netflix. Don't think I'll be renewing it when my free year is up in November.

(Fucking idiots)
The Hamilton double-standard is so rich.
