According to my state, Hospitalization means the individual was hospitalized for any reason during the their illness. I.e, if you break your foot, go to the hospital, get tested and show positive, you're in the hospital for covid, not the broken foot.
They're trying desperately to stop any economic recovery. They're hoping that between the riots they encouraged, and the quarantine lock downs, the failing economy will demoralize people and turn them against President Trump.
Notice they don't talk about the number of US deaths anymore just worldwide. The number of death rates is not going up for 2 reasons. 1 - The new cases are mostly the younger people that are more resistant to serious complications and 2 - There is better understanding of the virus and how to treat it.
The number of cases with minor complications are a good thing. It means that more people will be carrying the antibodies when they get over it. The more people with antibodies the closer we are to it not being spread easily.
It's actually a nice red-pilling moment. I've had a few people tell me how concerned they are about this spike we're experiencing--even some kids have asked me--and I get to say even though we're seeing more and more cases, the death rate is going down every day and you should see how relieved they look!
Democrats dumping crack heads into our local parks is more dangerous than Covid-19. The Kids aren't safe, Our cars aren't safe, and the environmental hazard they cause with feces and needles is damn well not safe!
This is what I talk about at work when I can. Fuck cases, cases mean herd immunity. Hospitalizations and death are what we need to focus on. All over reddit muhhh two weeks from now.
Most of the population that could die either has or buckled down enough that they have a chance to avoid infection in general.
Meanwhile, the population that has the least chance to die from the coronavirus with basic treatment can just tank it and get on with their lives. Bring on Herd Immunity.
Yes, this is what worries me. As the talk of a second wave escalates( thanks faucci) I'm hearing & seeing more and more talk of going back to square 1. Hell no
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been allowing companies to market COVID-19 antibody tests without requiring them to submit validation data proving that these tests gave accurate results. As a result, of the more than 100 COVID-19 antibody tests currently available, only a handful have been FDA-approved.
But the accuracy of even these tests depends on the percentage of people in the population who have actually been exposed to the virus. For example, in a population where the prevalence of infection is 5%, a test with 95% specificity and 95% sensitivity will return the same number of false positives as true positives, making any individual result no more useful than the flip of a coin.
For a complete explanation, watch MIT Professor Michael J. Cima demonstrate the math that explains how a test’s sensitivity and specificity may combine with low population prevalence to make an individual antibody test relatively useless.

Trump is about to get millions off unemployment right before an election. 2.5 million in a month ain’t nothing

Imagine if they reported on every confirmed case of a cold or the flu.

Please help spread this message: confirmed cases means even less than what you think because the false positive rate of covid19 tests is very high.
