If the elders of the church are asking for that, I do not see it as a weakness on Pence’s part.

probably just being cordial

Well it's also taught in the bible to obey our leaders unless their orders directly violate God's law.

Trust me, I have my own cognitive dissonance going on with that one, since I won't wear a mask and I live under pooper Cooper's mandate.

All hath sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

I was in a gun shop yesterday and only wore my mask if others near me had theirs on.

If nobody else had it on I took it off.

I figure I can respect mask wearers - especially the elderly ones - but still take it off if nobody else cares. If you're under 65 you're fine.

So here's the thing: Legal Name Fraud, heard about that? It's where the people are lured into using an external, corporate identity; A person.

The effect of this is the outsourcing of creation itself.

If you're willingly choosing to sin, you're on a ridiculously dangerous path.

Maybe I have an unpopular opinion, you guys tell me.

Businesses/Events - Set their mask policies and reinforced by being denied service. People can vote with their dollar.

Government - Against legal mandates. To much power/slippery slope.

I agree with you 100%. If it's a business I really like that produces quality product or service, I'll wear a mask or go through hoops to get what I want. If I can get something better or similar quality that isn't too much more or hopefully even less, I'll take my business there.

When it comes to the government, the government can fuck off.

Now the government certainly is mandating businesses to force people to wear masks, but that falls under the "too much power/slippery slope" part. But if we take that away, if a business wants to have their patrons do something to shop there, I have no issue. Stores should be allowed to accept business from whoever they want, no matter how silly it might be.

The Next Door Karen’s are organized and calling corporate headquarters of any business they use like gas stations and reporting if employees aren’t wearing masks.

Right, my church is asking for anyone in the main sanctuary to wear a mask, but in the second service it's optional, so they are allowing some flexibility.

Paramedics on the scene said that at first Everest was unable to move, but when they fed him some bagels from the foyer and gave him a sip of freshly-brewed extra-light roast coffee, he perked right up. It was about that time the rest of the worship team arrived to get warmed up.

He didn't virtue signal about it, he just did it out of respect to elderly people in attendance who are 100x more likely than young healthy people to be affected. A kind gesture to people who came out and wanted to meet the VP.

Now if he’d only stop calling his wife “mother” he’d be 100%.

18
Staatssicherheit 18 points ago +19 / -1

I haven't heard Pence say this but I've heard other people say it as shorthand for "mother of my children."

That's a perfectly acceptable way to refer to the mother of your children.

2
HongKongFluey 2 points ago +5 / -3

I call my wife mommy around the kids but not outside of that. Trump wasn’t a big fan either. Just sayin. Downvotes were totally expected lol

Winning the war is more important more than winning a singular battle. To be clear, I’m against masks as well. The fact that Pence has the balls to call BLM out as to what they really are and refuses to bend the knee to them means way more to me than deciding to wear a mask at church (which again I’m against).

Why are people accepting policies that are, while perhaps not government enforced, come from government and unfree press propaganda? From unprincipled, bunk "science"?

Why normalize masks? This is the United States of America, not China, not Vietnam, not Cambodia. Stop it. Choose freedom... our country was founded on it, many have died for you to have it. No masks...

If you want to wear it, it is your choice, but the mask is a political symbol promoting evil, oppressive propaganda.

17
SnowflakeJuice 17 points ago +18 / -1

If he wants to wear a mask, that is his choice. The issue I have is with mandating their use, but people should be free to do what they want

Weremoose 9 points ago +15 / -6

Wearing a mask at Church is a Christian thing to do. Romans 14:13 and on

0
horseface_aint_black 0 points ago +16 / -16

Fuck that

1
Weremoose 1 point ago +11 / -10

Which is more important, doing nothing to distract others from worshiping God or virtue signaling?

I don't wear masks either. I've even put my job on the line for that conviction. But I'll wear a mask to avoid the possibility of interfering with God's glory.

13
horseface_aint_black 13 points ago +16 / -3

Perpetuating the fear and lies of covid by participating in the propaganda is a grevious sin against my neighbor. Count me out.

7
HongKongFluey 7 points ago +9 / -2

Isn’t nit wearing a mask just as much “virtue signaling”? What soy boy even care up with that term and why are we fucking using it??
