Because a lot of people, including many Trump supporters, are stupid authoritarians that want to force private companies to do things their way. They're for freedom of enterprise when a gay dude tries to force a Christian baker to bake him a cake for his gay wedding, but they're against it when an airline refuses to let them fly without a mask. Hypocrites.
So to your argument, I have the same message to you that I have to the people when I went to visit Occupy LA: Valid grievance, but you've been manipulated into blaming the wrong people.
The people of Occupy LA were angry at the wall street corporations for being corrupt, but I tried to explain to them it was crony-capitalism, the gov't allowing corporations to infiltrate it, that was the issue and not "corporations" themselves.
In the same way, your beef is with the FAA and gov't, not airlines. If it was proposed to have the FAA create a rule banning airlines from refusing service to people without masks I would support that. The airlines are a bit of an extreme case, and to be honest, I'm sure the airlines policy of forcing customers to wear masks has more to do with government intervention anyway.
Finally, the airlines also have to worry about lawsuits from people who will catch COVID 19 and will sue the airline. They'll say they were fine and then some guy on a flight with them wasn't wearing a mask and now Southwest has to PAY.
It's a stupid situation, but almost all the stupidity comes from government regulation and the government judicial system. Reform here is what the answer is, not what OP suggested.
It's OUR fault. When you shop at a state sanctioned global enterprise that is taken over by lefties, you are the one putting money into the machine that seeks to eliminate you. It's ALL OUR FAULTS, every time we shop at a walmart, or a chain grocery store instead of a mom and pop store or local convenience store.
Most small businesses don't care about bullshit like masks. And most of them are desperate for our business, but we go to the fancy chain stores, where everything comes from China, and is about 30% cheaper, and we whine about companies that don't respect us. About 50% of the GDP comes from small business, and probably less than 1% of all businesses is where the other 50% comes from. We need to change this ration DRASTICALLY!
Sorry but sometimes businesses just need to do what they gotta do to stay open and support the lives of their employees. The owner of a gun store could protest the NFA by selling everyone silencers without approval from the ATF, but that wouldn’t bode well for the success of the business or the freedom of the people operating it.
Also being shut down by the gov't. They're on the warpath looking to hurt business as much as possible to ruin the economy and prevent a Trump re-election. Getting mad at other victims just because you're a victim isn't rational.
I don't take shit from any corporation. If I don't agree with them, I don't give them my business. I don't whine about it like a pussy. I'm able to find businesses that let me do things in a way I find acceptable.
Authoritarian pussies try to force companies to do things in a way they find acceptable. Conservative men find companies that are willing to do things in a way they find acceptable, and dismiss the others.
Some random Democrat murdered my friend last week so I'm going to go out and murder some random Democrat. It's all kosher since they do it too, right?
How much of a loser does someone have to be to be pissed at a group of people for doing immoral things while at the same time asserting we should do the same immoral things? Anyone who thinks this way is a total hypocrite.
You're exactly like the losers I met at occupy wall street: pissed off at corporations when it's really the gov't they should be mad at.
See my other comment. Saying authoritarian gov't and the companies they force to do their bidding are the same thing is the dumbest assertion I've heard in a thread full of dumb assertions.
You’re absolutely right and I’m not sure why you’re rubbing people the wrong way. Just proving that sometimes some people have double standards on both the left and the right I guess.
Because I'm blunt as hell and people with big egos don't like getting called out so they're performing mental gymnastics that would make a libtard blush to try and figure a way to turn it around on me cause they can't see their own hypocrisy.

I think this is a big part of it - companies being afraid of being sued.
