Who argues about personal CHOICES regarding social media anyways?

Let people join it. Leave Twitter. Stay on both. Who cares?

yeah but gotta have some mechanism to stop SJW and bots from making shill accounts and spamming everyone which is what they will do if it's completely wide open

They get away with that only because the big social networks are on their side.

I never download an app for a service that you can use in a browser if I can help it. Made a Parler just to claim a handle and no phone number required.

On one hand, the checks keep bots and lunatics out. On the other, it could glow in the dark

I did join parler but I hate it because no one can see anything without joining, which I think defeats almost all of the purpose of such a website. Even when you're on parler, you only get to see people you've literally followed. There are tons of barriers to engagement and "outreach" isn't really possible.

I've never gone to a movie where I didn't have to pay to get in first.
