Anything can occur "under the right conditions" but when I've seen numerous little old ladies get torqued on by three burly firemen and a team of nurses, with no open fractures, I'm not sure what "right conditions" you're imagining occurring; also "open fractures" are a break in the skin which don't have much to do with liver/spleen/lung lacerations (so keep reading that textbook).
Also what the fuck are nitrile/latex gloves - the subject of this discussion - going to do against a sharp protruding bone

Fracture yes, protruding ribs ("open fracture") no. I've seen many CPRs and that is not a thing.
