Taliban already wanted to kill us Troops. Even if more us troops being dead was your goal, these guys were doing it for free... and using money from arab islamofascists to do it. Russia would rather not waste money, and see their enemies waste money instead (russia is aligned against most muslim nations not named Iran and Syria.)
This supposedly happened months ago. And in that time no taliban member leaked it to get some cash? None of the many countries spying in this area picked it up. LOL. Something like this would have not remained secret for so long.
Russia doesn't want bad PR at this time. Possibly giving the US justification to put up more sanctions or worse just to kill a few hundred at most, and more likely less than 40 us troops would never be worth it.
