This is what I assumed too. More violence and backstabbing disrupts any peace that was being achieved and prolongs our presence there. Withdrawing from Afghanistan is predicated on securing a peaceful relationship with the shit head Taliban. So how exactly would compromising that achieve an escalation in leaving when it hasnt for almost 20 years?
